If you want to discover the city of Yazd through an experimental,walking and local tour within the city this experience may be unique for you. The wonderful Yazd is a city located in the desert but with water reserves called qanats and installations on the roofs of houses, called windcatchers or “Badgir” in Farsi, which naturally function as air conditioning during the time hot. As soon as we get on the roof of one of the local houses you will be surprised with the landscape you would find.

We begin this guided tour from the hotel or location you choose in the morning. Our visit begins by walking in the old town of Yazd and subsequently visiting the Mola Agha Baba synagogue in the Jewish part of the old town. Our next destination is the Yazd Jame mosque and discover the Fahadan district. The next site to explore, although it is called Alexander prison, is now known as the “Ziayieh” school and is a prominent architectural site. After this visit, our tour will end by visiting Amir Chakhmaq Square and the Yazd Water Museum where you will discover about the qanats and the technique of evoking the fresh water of the mountainous areas.
During the tour and normally when we are in Fahadan district we will go to a high quality restaurant to have lunch. The main local foods are the kebabs, Gheimeh stew with rice (if you have tried it in other cities, you have to repeat because Gheime in Yazd is completely different) and etc. Right after finishing our walking tour and before being dropped off at the hotel we'll enjoy a coffee, tea or other local infusions with a delicious Yazdi sweets.
